Do take advantage of the skills of Des Indes Villas’ competent chef who is on hand to prepare daily breakfast (included in the rate), as well as lunch and dinner on request. Guests may choose from a reasonably priced menu of home-style Indonesian, Asian and Western dishes catering to all tastes – everything from spaghetti carbonara to spicy beef rendang. They can also arrange a barbecue of imported meats and fresh-from-the-sea fish. If guests have specific requests, the chef is more than happy to cook off-menu dishes as well as tailor meals to accommodate any special dietary requirements. They may also prepare gourmet meals for up to 25 guests should you wish to host a dinner party while in residence. (Off-menu groceries and beverages will be charged at cost plus 10.5% tax and 5% service.)
One of the delights of staying in a private villa is the personalised service accorded to guests. The well-trained and gracious staff that serve both Des Indes Villas will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly Balinese hospitality, and know how to be on hand when needed while keeping discreetly out of sight when not.
The manager and assistant manager at Des Indes Villas are responsible for the overall operation of the villas. Their job is to oversee and coordinate the staff to meet the expectations of the guests, as well as to assist guests during their stay.
Des Indes Villas’ skilled chef and cook will happily prepare anything from the reasonably priced menu of Western and Asian dishes, as well accommodate special requests and dietary requirements.
Our butlers deliver five-star service to ensure that guests have whatever they need. They serve meals and beverages throughout the day, help with excursions, and attend to daily housekeeping.
A gardener maintains the swimming pools, ponds and gardens.
Guests are kept safe and secure by the villa’s night-shift security as well as the Laksmana Estate’s 24-hour team.
Villa holidays are an excellent option for families, who can enjoy the villas’ private facilities with the freedom to use them whenever you want. Knowing that the kids can play independently and safely, without you having to worry about them disturbing other guests, is a real plus – and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too.
Both Des Indes Villa I and Des Indes Villa II are suitable for a large family or a couple of families holidaying together, thanks to the configuration of bedrooms and multiple private spaces across different pavilions within the gardens. For guests travelling with a crowd, the villas – which are a two-minute walk away from each other in the same estate – can be booked together, providing a total of nine bedrooms and three swimming pools.
Those with toddlers will need to be vigilant, however, due to the unfenced swimming pools and ponds (though it is easy to keep an eye on children from the comfort of the living areas.
The staff will make children feel as welcome as adults, and having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost).
Although the equipped kitchens in each villa allows you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease, staff will be happy to do this for you – just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or chef and they will take care of the rest.
Don’t worry about packing all that cumbersome kids’ equipment for your stay. Just let us know what you need, and anything we don’t have in-house (villa facilities include a baby cot, highchair, car seat and games) we can hire on your behalf (click here to see list of available hire items).
And when the excitement of exploring the villa starts to wear off, check out our Things to do page – there’s plenty in the area to keep all the family amused throughout your holiday.
Feel like a body scrub or massage? Just ask our staff to bring the spa to you! We can recommend deluxe treatments carried out in the privacy of your villa by fully trained therapists from a reputable local spa (extra charges will apply). Here’s a sample of what’s on the menu:
Release built up tension with a traditional Balinese massage. Using a combination of gentle stretches, acupressure and aromatherapy oils to stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen and energy around your body, you will feel totally relaxed in no time.
Foot reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet corresponding to every part of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes tension is relieved and circulation improved leaving you feeling balanced.
A full body scrub will exfoliate and hydrate your skin leaving it soft and smooth. A rejuvenating scrub combines an abrasive material such as salt, coffee, rice bran or pecan hulls with essential oils to remove any impurities and make your skin glow.
Our hands and feet work hard for us every day but rarely get the attention they deserve. Treat them to a manicure or pedicure, which usually comes with the added bonus of a quick hand or foot massage.
Des Indes Villas sits securely within the Laksmana Estate, an exclusive enclave right in the heart of Seminyak. The villas are not immediately next door to each other, but are just 300-metres apart and easily reached via the estates’ private road. Bali’s most stellar beach area, the wide expanse of Petitenget Beach, is a mere five-minute walk away. Many of the island’s most celebrated restaurants and bars are a short stroll away, including Ku De Ta, Metis, Sarong and Potato Head. No need to take a taxi to reach Seminyak’s many boutiques, lifestyle shops and spas either. What a perfect spot!. .

Thank you for making our familly celebration so memorable. We have loved gathering around the table each morning with too much coffee and too little motivation. Perfect Seminyak location, and a welcoming home to return to.

We were very fortunate to spend a lot of time in Bali over many years and have been experienced many villas. Villa Des Indes ranks in the top list for us. It is a well designed villa, well maintained and has a team that combines attentions and discretion. Great Vibe! Villa Des Indes is definitely on our list of 3-4 properties that we will comeback to. Thanks for looking after us!

Welcome to Des Indes Villas – an exceptional pair of fully staffed luxury villas set within the ultra-exclusive gated Laksmana Estate in Seminyak’s most sought-after locale, moments from Petitenget Beach.
Named after Holland’s legendary Hotel Des Indes from the Dutch East Indies era, each heritage-meets-contemporary-chic villa comprises a series of individual living and sleeping pavilions set in tropical gardens with swimming pools, balés, sun decks and koi ponds.
At the heart of the four-bedroom Des Indes Villa I is a centuries-old teak joglo – once the residence of a Javanese aristocrat and reassembled in Bali. Today, with its elaborately sculpted pillars and intricately carved panels, this heritage building – believed to be the best preserved joglo on the island – commands centre-stage as an open-sided, open-plan living space circled by a 21-metre lagoon-style swimming pool and ornamental koi pond.
The five-bedroom, two-pool Des Indes Villa II spotlights a more contemporary interpretation of the traditional joglo. Soaring columns support the vaulted roof in its large open-sided living pavilion edged by koi ponds facing a 16-metre pool. Another living area and two bedroom pavilions border a second 10-metre pool.
In both villas, the bedroom suites are impeccably proportioned, with floors of polished teakwood and Palimanan stone under vaulted, teak ceilings. An eclectic collection of colonial-style furniture, prized antiques, precious Asian ceramics and artefacts, oriental rugs and art books adorn every room. Expect more contemporary luxuries too – top-range King Koil mattresses, crisp cotton bed linen, large TVs with satellite channels in every bedroom, and statement bathtubs in marble-lined bathrooms.
Out of sight but always on hand are the villa butlers, ready to meet your every whim – whether an espresso served on your bedroom veranda, an ice-cold Bintang by the pool, silver service afternoon tea in the joglo or living pavilion.
Each day is magical here. Start with an energy-boosting tropical breakfast then pick up one of the many books lying around, and retreat to an antique daybed or poolside balé. Take a siesta on a sun lounger then cool off in the pool. Stroll to Ku De Ta for sunset cocktails, then return home for a gourmet candle-lit dine created by your accomplished chef. Finally, retreat to the air-conditioned comfort of your spacious bedroom, sink into a petal-strewn bathtub and finally retire to your four-poster bed. Repeat the next day!
With warm heartfelt service, wonderful surroundings, and a stellar beach-in-five Seminyak location, Des Indes Villas are perfect for five-star-seeking, fun-loving families and friends.
